The Farm in Fall

November 15, 2015

We’re back on the farm for a while, so I decided to take a walk while it was sunny and dry earlier this week. Here’s a peak of our newest almond orchard during this time of year…

A Kern County Fair Weekend

September 29, 2015

I just love the Fair! Especially this one. I grew up going to the Kern County Fair and this fair just seems more authentic to me than other fairs I’ve been to. It’s not overly commercialized and you can tell that agriculture plays a giant part of this fair. And it makes sense… it’s in a place where agriculture plays a big part in just about everyone’s lives! I’ve wanted to bring Armando to the Kern County Fair for years now and this weekend we finally got our chance! I mean, I’ve always had access to the fresh ones, but I may or may not have bought some from the grocery store on occasion, and let me tell you… they just don’t taste quite the same!

Almond Blossoms & Alpacas

March 3, 2014

Last weekend I went to visit my family at the farm. I was only able to stay for one night, but it was so fun. My mom had called me a few days before and reminded me that the Almond trees were blossoming. With all the white petals on the trees and the ground, it looks just like snow. And I hadn’t yet seen the new alpacas yet. So we drove up on my day off, and I dragged my boyfriend along with me. He’d never seen the farm at this time of the year before.
